Gentle yoga is a gentler style of Hatha yoga. It is practiced at a slower pace, with less intense positions. This practice will increase strength, balance, and flexibility while helping the mind relax and aid in a calmer nervous system. Some gentle poses may be held longer to incorporate breathwork, mindfulness, and relaxation. Louise will emphasize stretching, strengthening, and low-impact movements done mainly on the floor.

This class will begin with a centering, moving on to gentle movements to warm the body. Modifications and props are offered to help all fitness levels so all can enjoy the benefits of yoga without putting themselves at risk for injury.

It is the perfect type of yoga for those who are beginners, who have a reduced level of fitness, strength, mobility, or flexibility, seniors, individuals with chronic health issues or injuries, those recovering from surgery or chemotherapy, and anyone who wants to experience a slow, mindful, and meditative practice.

This class will focus on breath work, slow and gentle movements and poses, and quiet reflection. You will find that gentle yoga is nourishing to the body and mind.
